Designed loading system is unique with its high lifting capacity of 110 tonnes which is 1.6 times more lifting capacity of old railway track maintenance vehicles such as PRL-4 (67 tonnes) with the same length.
Due to plain yet bold decision to allocate lifting cranes on opposite ends of two coupled platforms providing possibility for fast load of rails from any side of the track without additional actions (cranes allocated in the center of platforms on PRL-4 made choice of loading side and additional operations for bringing rails under cranes difficult).Console crane booms may rotate both synchronously and separately with 360 degrees pivot. In addition to high lifting capacity and operation on both sides, platforms may be used not only in couple, but separately. Control is performed from compact remote board, thus, control of the system requires just one person.
Universal Handling Units PRL-M is towed special railway equipment and is designed for operation in tracking connection with hauling unit. Design velocity 90 km/h, lifting capacity 110 tonnes, assigned service life up to 35 years.
New system will be used for repair and current maintenance of railway, and is designated to increase efficiency of repair, transportation of rails, wooden and concrete sleepers within work sites on closed sections.
